James Bay New Horizons is a not-for-profit society that was established in 1974, operating as an activity centre in the neighbourhood community of James Bay in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada.

We provide accessible programs, services and volunteer opportunities to our members and to local residents in general. It is our goal to help people maintain, improve and develop new skills, interests and social opportunities, and to enhance the quality of life of our members and visitors.

Annual memberships are available for $50.00, and a special August-to-December membership is $25.00. Non-residents and "snowbirds" may purchase monthly memberships for $10.00. While we offer our own programs and activities, there is also rental space in our facility available to businesses, individuals and organizations. Not including evening rentals, an average 2750 people visit the centre each month.

We publish a Weekly Bulletin, a monthly Calendar of Activities, a newsletter titled The Spirit, and a seasonal Program Guide (courses, workshops and services available at the activity centre). Copies of each are available at our front desk or from the menu bar at the top of this page.
We're located at 234 Menzies Street, Victoria BC. Please feel free to visit us Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Reception: 250-386-3035
Senior Reassurance: 250-386-4432

The New Horizons activity centre is located near the "five corners" in the centre of the community of James Bay, just two blocks south of the provincial Parliament Building.

James Bay is surrounded on three sides by water -- the Juan de Fuca Straight to the south, Victoria's outer harbour to the west and the inner harbour in the north. Its eastern border is Beacon Hill Park.
